Bit of a longshot, but does anyone know of this car? AG59HWZ VW Passat L in black around the Exeter area.
The reason I'm asking is because i saw the stupid cow who forgot to use her handbrake, and let her Civic smash your front wing to a crumpled mess in the Triangle carpark in Exeter town center! Got her reg number and a couple of pictures if you need them. I spoke to her and was assured she would leave you a note, but I didn't have a pen and paper myself to leave you my details and had to leave for an appointment.
If anyone knows who the owner might be point them in this direction please, just incase she didn't leave the note or you want the pics. Thanks all.

Did call the local non-emergency number when i got home only to be told by the lovely and articulate call handler that, as no-one was injured and i wasn't directly involved, there was nothing that they would do! Really annoying as i respect the job the BiB do but i would hesitate to call the non-emergency number again after the fantastic service the civilian call handler gave.

I would write to the local station and ask for them to pass on your details, also making sure I mentioned the unhelpful response from the non emergency number. After all for them it is a 15 minute job to do a DVLA check and forward to the address of the owner, and will now take longer to handle the complaint.

Would suggest you contact VW Garage and speak to service manager, get him to pass on your details to the car owner, then he can get the owner to liaise with you direct.

I thought you can request addresses through DVLA if you have reason.

Not a local reg on the Passat though

No, but it might be a lease company car and consequently on the service database.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've popped into my local station and spoken to the BiB on the desk, much better experience in person. I've left my details with them so if the owner should contact them they'll pass them on. I also mentioned the poor service from the civilian call handler and was assured my comments would be passed along although i didn't want to make an official complaint.
I tried the local VW dealership but they weren't really much help, kept telling me they couldn't give me the owners details even though i repeatedly said i didn't want them, just if they could contact him and pass the details on. I wont hold my breath, but i can understand them not wanting to get involved when it's not their problem and the driver isn't local.
Finally, i know i could request the drivers details from the DVLA but i don't really want to get that involved either, it's not a personal quest for justice, i'm not the vigilante carpark avenger superhero type! biggrin I just thought i'd do what i could if the owner was known by anyone. This thread now appears on google so if the owner ever searches his reg he'll see it, and if he contacts the police he should be passed my details. That's about all i can reasonably do.

As a customer service exercise though, they could contact the customer on your behalf and potentially gain a customer, for little outlay on their part.
