When threads are deleted, the OP is usually emailed a reason why.

In this case though, I've checked back to see what happened, and the original thread was reported by someone as it included a link to High Flier's ad in the classifieds, and by default, posts that are deemed to be adverts or veiled adverts are deleted.

I hope this clears up the mystery
