Scamming on the Portway!

I've heard of a lot of people getting wazzed by the mobile camera on the Portway but only saw the site for myself today. Right in the middle of a line of parked cars. Ridiculously wide open road that I can't understand being a 30. Why not still a 40 limit?

Gah, that really annoys me. I hate the fact that this is the public's idea of the Police.

For the record, most of them aren't sitting in a blatant "cash cow" van location pinging drivers for doing 32!

I've never understood that 30mph limit.
Ok so there should be traffic calming for traffic leaving the motorway but 30mph is too low. There aren't any houses on the Avon side of the road, nor is there a playground or anything. 40mph seems more reasonable?

Indeed. 30mph limit there is entirely inconsistent with the road class and situation. I think what really annoyed me was the way the van was parked in a row of cars, too. I can think of many far better locations to deploy the vans.

I had people tailgating me on that bit of the Portway yesterday as I was doing 3omph. I'm sure they thanked me really when we passed the scamvan.

Almost as good as the van on the A303 parked half in a hedge this afternoon. Twunts.

It's a pain that stretch of road.

70 (M5) - 40 - 30 - 40 - 50 in the space of about a mile or so.

see the bloody thing every time its there when im in the truck and yes its a piss take that they can hide along side parked cars

and no matter how many times i flash my lights and put the thumb down to on coming drivers they still ingnore me unless you drive a truck and no wot im doing i guess
