Family friendly pubs in East Bristol?

The pub that's up on the double roundabout on the A420 between Warmley and Wick used to be good - can't remember the name, might be called the Griffin but I may be making that up and the Rose and Crown in Wick used to do fab food, not sure how family friend it is though.
Yes, that's The Griffin. You could head around the ring road (towards Downend) and try the Willy Wicket - http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thewillywicketdownend/ - I would say it's somewhere between Beefeater and proper pub.
