Has anybody else had enough of the state of the roads in Plymouth. My poor Sup is getting banged around the roads in the city. I am constantly trying to drive around all the holes in the roads. Plymbridge road from the Wrigley’s roundabout to the George is a joke, I'm sure the road surface on Southway Drive all the way down to Tamerton Foliot road is made from corrugated Iron and the main A386 down to Derriford roundabout (the original bit) can't be far off becoming a farm track.
I know the snow and ice didn’t help but I have noticed the surfaces worsen over the past 12 months. I have e-mailed the council with the holes I see daily but the council tax would have to rise drastically to enable them to make the permanent repairs necessary. What do the local PHers think?

You're not wrong, things have got much worse after the freeze a few weeks ago too. Crownhill road is pretty bad for the entire length and that's not the worst by a long way!

It's always been pretty bad, especially around Plymstock & heading out past Stadiscombe towards Heybrook Bay. I've noticed a couple of new ones, but nothing that would worry me.

It's one of a few reasons i'm selling the Cupra for a 'waftmobile'.

Although the roads have got a lot worse since the freeze, Plymouth is a lot better than some cities. I'm surprised at how well my rather low and stiffly sprung Elise copes (I do tend to drive round the worst holes thoughtongue out).

Parts of Plymstock are terrible, but I agree it is getting bad everywhere. Even the A303 was diabolical when I came back the other day - fortunately in a Land-Rover, which is what we will all need soon if it carries on like this!
Seems funny that manufacturers 'tune' their suspensions to the British roads, which are terrible compared to most European ones, and then insist on putting low profiles on most models, whereas there doesn't seem to be such a thing about really low profiles elsewhere.

It worked! Reported the rugged mess of potholes and rubble on Cremyl Street in Plymouth on Monday and they've now filled them in. Not very well of course - looks like a 4 year old did it, the holes are still there, they're either inverse holes or just shallower versions of their former selves.

I'm going to log the whereabouts of every one I see now and put them through that website.

From the Ridgeway all the way up to Chaddlewood garage is getting unbearable now. Serves me right for having stiff suspension but it's long overdue a resurface.

I have to say some of the repairs have been repaired by the pre-school club and the Sups suspension is suffering (even though I spend most of my time driving around the holes. Keep loging the potholes, bit by bit we may get the roads re-surfaced.
