Taking a bit of a trip tomorrow with a mate and the cameras up into Somerset and wondered if anyone knew of any interesting places which fitted the bill for my theme of the day - ruins and dereliction.

Was going to take a walk out to Brean Down fort initially, then maybe have a poke around Birnbeck Island.

Anything else in that area which may be of interest?

I guess this is partially inspired by wading through some pages on the 'Derelict Places' and '28 Days Later' websites, but unlike some of those guys I wasn't intending any trespassing, etc.

Yeah that would do it too hehe

Was thinking more of Euro Business Park, just of Winterstoke Rd. We were there last weekend for the Rallysprint...glad we took the barge and not the tiv

BTW PStruck...the tiv is your old one (I'm Grahams other half)

I've always wanted to have a look around the WW2 anti aircraft battery in Sheepway, 5 mins from Portishead:

The view on Bing maps:

Or an old ship wreck near burnham on sea, just make sure the tide isn't in:

hmm...the old military place is minutes from my house, I'll take a wander down there later and see how accessable it actually is.

Pete...Graham will be up here at some point today so I'll pass the message on. Only event we have going at the moment is Clay Shooting and quad biking up here on 27th Feb

A bit further north than you are after but Sharpness docks is a pretty cool place to have a look round, there is also an old disused dock there as well and a load of concrete derelect barges.

Basically it's two small docks (one old and disused and one newer) that suffer alot of up and down business so there are new buisnesses surrounded by dereliction and abandoned machinery and boats.

Some pics from earlier this year after SJ inspired me to go and get some pics.
