Spring is coming - Track Day Season is nearly upon us.
Discussion
Following on from the many successful meetings (thanks to Graham and Sandy) and the karting event in November.
Several attendees of the karting event expressed an interest in a Track Day when cars are out of winter lock down (Chris) and there's a fighting chance of dry and warm weather for those of us with no roof or windscreen!
Obviously being primarily South West based some of the more established circuits (Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park etc) are a bit far away, Castle Coombe is the only established circuit but it's a bit bland and expensive.
I've been looking around and Colerne Airfiled in Wiltshire looks ok. Saturday 17 April seems like a good day, only problem is noise restriction of 100db.
Any takers?

I've done a couple of days a Colerne - it's good fun, with some tricky surface changes, especially if it is damp/wet. Motorsport Events do well-run days there for not much money.

I'm going to pop along with the MX5 to a Colerne event sooner rather than later.LordGrover said:
MSE also have airfield/track events at Keevil and Hullavington.
all of the calendars are similar so first thing's first, which track?I've not been to either if the three so any feedback would be good. I'm taking a BMW 325, slightly modded and an R1 Sylva Phoenix, if it's not sold. BMW is good in long fast bends whereas the Phoenix is acceleration on short straights (it tops out on a standing quarter!). If anyone fancies a go but doesn't want to wreck their own car, the BMW may be up for hire too!
Any CSMA members here? Or anyone eligable? If so, there is a track day at Castle Combe on 18th May - £110 (plus £15 to join CSMA if you are not already a member). It's always a well organised day with plenty of track time and not too many out at a time.

I won't have anything I can take on a track but I have been looking to experience my first track day for a while now. I would come along with you guys as a spectator/support for a day out!
I'm sure you'll be welcome in many passenger seats at the very least.Gassing Station | South West | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
