Data Recovery in/around Swindon

So my laptop HDD has died with the last 5 years on it. And it's not backed up. Any of it!

Can someone recommend someone in/around Swindon who provides a data recovery service?

it depends on the condition of the disk.

simple tools will be able to recover most data assuming the disk will still spin up, if it wont then you will need a specialist to read the data from the platters which will not be cheap.

i cant give any personal recomendation on the company as i've never had it done but they are the sort of people you need to talk to about it.

I once used an outfit called MJM Data Recovery, who at that time were in Letchworth but it looks like they might have moved to Radstock, if its the same outfit, which is a bit more convenient (for me anyway). They were good, got everything off a crashed disk and put it onto CD-Roms. Cost about £700 (in 2002 or 2003 I think).
