Anyone got any they would like to put down?

Thought it would be handy for us that live down this way to have a play on roads that other people enjoy and be handy for people that come down for a break etc.

Riiiight, and then have the local scamerista appear on said roads?

I'll pass on that wink

It's not hard to find them - just head for the moorlands and hills and you'll find plenty of what you're asking for.

lol I thought someone might say that, but the cops don't have the resources to do that and even if they did, we just play somewhere else until they move again and so we are always one step ahead wink

And roads don't have to driven above the speed limit to be good roads wink

It's easier if you meet up with others locally on hoons, tunnel runs and the such.

To be fair, I have met up for some mid day gentle driving out to some lovely picnic spots with the regulars, and I never have a clue where we are after about 10 minutes after setting off or how we got there.

Most events I've been on the organiser has had a map (tomtom or printout) of the route.
This though is normally on Graham and Sandy's events which are very well put together, keep an eye out for the
next one wink

I was going to start a topic along these lines as I know very few "good" roads in the area and thought others might be able to suggest some within an hour or so from Bristol in any direction for when I'm bored and fancy a nice drive.

Do you honestly think the police are going to waste their time watching one random thread on a forum and then put cameras up based entirely on one persons subjective view in an internet post of what a good road is....

Anyway, any ideas would be good, I realise heading out into the country is generally a good bet but there must be some roads people enjoy driving around Bris that don't require a spare 4 hours to get to smile

Crediton to Barnstaple which is a377 or alternatively fork off a 1/4 of the way along and head for Bideford instead, both excellent roads.
Go across the bridge or take a left out of Glos to the Forest of Dean, amazing roads around there and normally quiet and remote enough for some fun.
Cheddar Gorge and surrounding roads is pretty to look at and would be an ok driving road if it wasnt full of tourist traffic and fallen off bikers.

Even the A37 from Brizzle to Shepton is good on a quiet day, unfortunately I think its only xmas day its quiet enough lol.

Be cautious on 377 Crediton Barnstaple road, its a pleasant road but the very high number of accidents have made the police take a close interest in traffic through here.
