As the monthly curries are popular I wondered if anybody is interested in a Christmas meal early in December. Hands up ir you are interested, and if its a goer I'll book something (assuming we can get in at such fairly short notice). If you're up for it could you indicate a budget, so I have an idea of what's popular. I thought about the Crown just of the M4 at J18 (very good pub - see attached link http://www.ohhcompany.co.uk/the_crown/Crown_Christ... ), some might think it's a bit pricey at £27 for 3 courses, but the food is very good. Alternatively I'd suggest the Beefeater or the Willey Wicket on the Avon Ring Road @ Downend.

Great idea. w/c 14 December is probably out for us. We'd go up to a max of £30 per person.

OK, so how about Tuesday to Thursday the 8th - 10th December? I'd suggest I book a table for 10 on a 1st come - 1st served basis, seems we might be up to about 6 or so already. I'll make some phone calls and post the results in the next day or so

I would be up for this, The Crown is excellent. As an aside, so is the Old House at Home (same company) which is about 2 miles down the road that The Crown is on (Tolldown Way, not the A46) in Burton.

Hijacking the Bristol curry?eekTraditionally we go out in Brissle at the weekend in December so we can all have a few sherbertsbiggrin

And although the Crown sounds good, it's a bit of a trek for me for a midweek night out.

Hi Bill, Heaven forbid that I should hijack the Brisle Curry, it's monthly meet is set in stone. It's just that I'm a sad self employed old git who doesn't have a "Works Christmas Party", and I can't think of anybody better than you lot to go out with!

OK I've booked The Crown for 8.00pm on Tuesday the 8th December. I've said there'll be 8 of us and we'll all the that Christmas menu. I've assumed that the 8 of us who said they are coming will come, but I can add a few othhers is anyone else wants to join in.

Now the important stuff - I have to pay a £10/head deposit by the end of the week - SO IF YOU ARE NOT COMING PLEASE SAY SO BEFORE FRIDAY, OR I'LL BE OUT OF POCKET!!!
