Jolly helpful tuning people in Stroud
Discussion
Life in a 75ps Ford Transit Connect limited to 70mph has driven me potty. A few weeks ago (like 24 hours after buying it) I started looking in to getting the limiter removed.
Local Ford garage weren't sure, would need it for a day blah blah. I can't be off the road for a day, I'm a courier and it'll cost me a packet.
Not quite so local dealer insisted they wouldn't undo what Ford had done. Doh!
So, having had a friend enjoy her dealings with Turner Race Developments in Stroud they plugged in their box of witchcraft only to find it wouldn't do the job. Call to Superchips revealed they needed a different programming box at a cost of £6,000.
So Dan called his local Ford dealer and arranged to take it there today, where it would be done while he waited and brought back to me, sitting comfy on the sofa at their premises, drinking their coffee and trying to decide whether to stick with the pile of magazines or video games or dvds.
£75 and one hour later (less than Ford charge Joe Public) I have a van which now does more than 70mph (don't tell uncle von Hosepipe).
He and his brother Jamie are utterly car mad - Dan's dd is an RS6, while Jamie arrived on a bicycle, fast! Workshop is tidy and has plenty of fast VW/Audi stuff going on.
They'll work on just about anything as indicated by the NSX there too and the old Transit they did yesterday.
They'll Bluefin stuff for the cost of the programmer, no labour.
If you need something tweaked from reprogramming central locking to serious wizardry (or the aforementioned witchcraft) I thoroughly recommend them.
