Mine is broken... Again! The crank arm is coming loose. Can anyone help? Happy to walk over to you if you can help!

I take it its a 3 piece crank? Usually an allen key bolt in the centre holding the arms, if you tighten the bolt up but after a few minutes pedaling it comes lose again then the arm may have worn & you'll have to buy another. I've gone through a few in the past

The one who went to a meet on a pushbike?

James can help you if you want, drop him a PM and he can pop round this weekend if you like.

But that's what I don't understand. I had a new one, which they said, as you've said, was worn; but I've ridden maybe 500 miles TOPS on it - all very easy miles, and it's chewed 2 of them. Maybe I ride like a spaz.

I did actually post this and then remember you both knew about pushbikes! hehe That would be really good, thanks. I'm free all weekend at the moment I think!

Lose bottom bracket?

Is it both arms that are lose or just the crank side? Do you get sweaking/groaning noises?

If you take the crank arm off, does the spline look worn? What type is it?

Where do you put your hair drier and "products"?

Iain have you tried slaters (think thats the name) just off the magic on shrivenham road? I had my bike done for a reasonable price.

Plus I'd never get the bike in my car! Thanks for the offer though smile

Not sure what is wrong with it yet. James reckons it might be the crank itself, but will need to contact GT to see what they say.

Most odd. As discussed, the bottom bracket is fine, the crank is just working loose.

If it does it again, I'd be tempted just to loctite it and not worry any further.

How are the brakes?

take the products and hair drier out and there'll be plenty of room wink
