I'm flattered Matt boxedin

If anyone wants the full story of how I've managed to make the jump from 8 years in a boring IT desk job to my dream job as a pilot, I'd be happy to write it some time smile

Basically, I've managed to land a job flying Cessna Grand Caravans for a small charter company out in Indonesia. This time in two weeks I'll be on an aeroplane heading for Singapore bounce

Flying in Indonesia! I read somewhere they have the worst safety record you could imagine!

Taken from BBC website: Indonesian carriers do not currently fly to Europe, but the ban serves as a warning to consumers not to use these airlines elsewhere in the world. "European citizens should avoid flying with these carriers," an EU official said. "They are really unsafe." hehe

Congratulations on the dream job mate, im just jealous!

<jealous> and yeah, Garuda has a bit of a rep for safety records, but having flown on one of their long haul (Schipol to Bali) flights, I have no quibbles.

Best of luck with it!

Cheers guys!

I won't be flying for any of those typically dodgy Indo airlines you hear about, but for a much more reputable and newer charter company. Their oldest aeroplane is about 5 years old which is very young in the aviation world smile

No offence taken smile

Yeah, it feels pretty good. Felt quite surreal sitting in the M5 traffic earlier, thinking I only have to put up with that for a few more days biggrin
