This Sunday is the Rolls Royce factory Sunday service ( http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/news/default.asp?stor... ). I was wondering if anyone from the south west region is going, and if so shall we get a convoy going? I'll be going from Weston-super-duper-Mare and the quickest route is M5 - M4 and then straight down to Goodwood, so we could meet people along the way. Any takers?

I'm still pondering this one, as I was at the Goodwood Revival three weeks ago, and followed it with 2000 miles heavy hooning in France; I could do with a change from driving. Final decision will be made late on Saturday.

I'm from Clevedon, and you're right the motorway route is (marginally) quicker, but more fun is:
Burrington Combe (B3134), Left on to B3135, cross A39, R onto A37, left on "ridge road" (shortly after left turn on A367 to Bath), then via Frome (either lanes or follow signs to A361, R A362) A362 past Longleat to A36 (Warminster bypass) follow A36 through Salisbury to M27. Little traffic, few cameras and some great twisties, just slow down when passing houses - residents dont take kindly to "open road speeds" past their front gate.

This route will take about 2 - 2 1/4 hours from Burrington - particularly early on a Sunday. Check it out on an atlas, and given your choice of weapons - enjoy the drive!

Having typed this, I am thinking that a cross-country roof-down blast may be prove to be irresistible!
