Had my car detailed today by Dave (Luckyluciano) today; so I thought I'd post the pictures up that he took for me. I take very good care of my car, but this OCD freak takes it to another level, so it was definitely worth the money! My swirls are gone, and the car smells lovely! The only downside was having to walk to work, as he wouldn't lend me his Aston!

When the car arrived. It had been washed Sunday morning anyway, so was already fairly clean.

Cleaning the alloys with Bilberry

Snow foamed

Dirty clay bar!

Swirls on my roof

Finished roof, complete with flake pop!

Bonnet

Alloys treated with Rim Wax. Tyres treated with Hot Rims.

The finished product! (Love the depth in the boot!)

Actually, it's funny you say that... I honestly thought it felt a bit faster on the way home... hehe Cars are always faster when they're clean!

Gorgeous car. How much does a clean like that cost?

Looking good Pulsethumbup I detailed my own car on sun, how much does Dave charge for a detail like that only ask as people I know have been asking me to do their cars don't really know how much to charge them

Which would explain why mine feels as slow as a 4-pot diesel... oh, wait. wink

Looking good, Iain. You planning on keeping it that way for Lidiard Park?

Cheers Danny! I'll email you what he charged me, but I would say look at the time you spend on it, the cost of consumables, etc etc and base it on that. Most pros do a full detail for around £200.

hehe Saw you again the other day by the way, but by the time you've flashed your lights, you've already gone past!

I'm definitely planning on letting people see it nice and shiny at Lydiard! Would be a shame to put this shine to waste!

Dave has done a fantastic job there, BMWs never look as good as that when they're new. I need to make the swindon meet I think no matter what it takes.

Definitely one of the best colours for that car - lovely! Clean ones are always faster too!

Prices for detailing vary a lot and its always worth asking exactly what will be done for the money. What one detailer describes as a full detail maybe what another considers a little light work. Unfortunately there are no real industry standard definitions and it can all get a bit confusing rolleyes

It's not sad I'm exactly the same, can't drive a dirty car and I enjoy detailing it when I know what the effects will be after.

All my neighbours think I'm nuts spending 7 - 8hrs cleaning the car.

Thanks Paul! I absolutely love the colour; and the car! We'll see how long this one lasts, since most of my cars go after 6 months or less. This one has lasted almost 6 months now, and there's no sign of it going yet!

He's not. Just some OCD freak that wanted to show me just how bad the paintwork was on my car! hehe I knew it had swirl marks, which are now gone, but I didn't realise how bad the clay bar would come out!

Unfortunately I've been to Lydiard today for a meeting, and so it's covered in dust now! frown

I'd love to have the time and knowledge to be able to do it myself. But for now, I'd rather pay someone with all the kit, knowledge and time to do it for me! Cheers Dave smile
