We all knew it was coming frown From 1st September to end of December and will effect both directions:

http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/19275.as...

Looks like they're being more optimistic with the time scale this time at 4 months. To do the southbound carriageway they estimated 6 months but finished early, so we can only hope the same happens this time wink

It's a good point chaps, as I too have seen people wizzing by in SPECs zones. Can't believe they couldn't have seen them, so makes me wonder if they are ever switched on scratchchin

Isn't there also a requirement to have one camera per lane and if you switch lanes they technically cannot prosecute? I notice, sometimes, there's only two cameras which in theory cannot monitor three lanes(?)

and that is why I enjoy using all three lanes when going through these camera's in a safe manner

Really? Last time I was away on a training course for 6 months, so didn't have to suffer it. This year I'm back working in Bristol again frown

nono Haven't you seen the signs that say "Stay in lane for your safety so we can more easily dip our hand in your wallet"?

I think they do work, but I wonder what the threshold is above which they persecute? I usually just lock the cruise control at whatever speed.

You must be a local too.

Cabstand is a joke, and I dont have too much choice but to go through it each day. Problem is there's now too many people living here for the roads. The Portbury Hundreds is a joke most mornings and it'll only get worse with the road works.

I only work in Filton, but theres not really another route to take...here comes the 1.5hr journeys to work again!!!

I'm losing the plot now over Specs
mad
For my journey (WSM to Reading)
furious
They might as well just stick cameras at J10 (Bracknell) M4 followed by cameras at J21 (WSM) M5
mad
And average me for the whole f'ing journey
rage
Mumble, moan, groan, thieving money grabbing bastids
ranting

I happened to notice yesterday that the specs are starting at the top of Hallen Bank, just after J17 south bound...there is no need at all for the camereas to start that far up the motorway!

must have missed the "stay in lane" but if I did see it it's only a suggestion I thought. much like don't undertake. not illegal just frowned upon

and agree mostly use cruise control also

The Northbound bridge deck is to be rehabilitated using the special surfacing machinery and a very special surfacing material (Gassaphalt if you really want to know....YAWN!) as the Southbound carriageway has been done, which you'll agree is now the best it's ever been. Currently the old Northbound surface is akin to a rally special stage!!

What happened with the potholes that suddenly appeared on the Northbound carriageway a couple of weeks ago?
