My E30 needs a bit of work. Did a Google search and found Clayton Cars. Anybody on here used them before? Any good? Also does anyone know of any good garages that do BMW's

Cheers

BeemerRedeemer (Keynsham) or Bavarian (nr Quarry Steps) are both recommended.

WP,

bit out of the way but I recommend Forza West in Chepstow

Ex BMW master Technician and the guy (Stuart) really knows his stuff (cheap as chips compared to main dealers)

I've used Clayton for both my E34s. Very happy with them.

Beemer Redeemer no longer offering service work as far as I know.

There's also one in Fishponds but can't recall the name. I know someone who is happy using them for his E39.

Steve Bull in Devizes offer BMW services. Not quite Bristol I know but worth considering.

I always use Clayton.

No problems at all - seem honest, friendly and professional, and do exactly what they say they will.

The one in Fishponds is called Wheelbase excellent work on my parners BMW and really reasonably priced, with ex BMW technicians i believe.

There's a review site HERE for BMW garages

Clayton fair very well on here, but as I said above I go for Forza West (no experience of Clayton)

First Call? (Scott Harrowing) in Nailsea - works from home at the moment but I was well-impressed with the guy's knowledge. Apparently spent years as head tech at Lovetts and then at Mercedes

Have used Clayton cars before for my old E36s the E46 and recently the 540 touring....very good and 1st class service BUT prices seem astronomical...they quoted over what a dealer quoted for a service.

Have spoken to Scott in Nailsea...didn't use him as IMO his knowledge of E39 engines and the what each service consisted of wasn't great.

If you fancy a trek out then grants of Wellington have always been very good with all of the beemers I've taken there.

Used Claytons in the 1990s for my 735i. The last few years they've been doing all the non service book stuff on my E39 M5. Including new clutch, change of steering pump, pre Hoon checkovers etc.

I heard a few not-so-great things about Claytons - that's why I started using Scott at First Call. He's dealt with my two previous M3s (E30 and E46) and my old E39 M5 which needed an engine rebuild - I've had no issues

Hearing and experiencing are rather different. Not useful unless you back it up with own or known experiences.

I used Wheelbase 4years ago to replace my 328's nikasil block. Job well done. Only reason I never went back was due to a friend joining Beemer Redeemer.
