Weekend shindig in Torbay.

My daughter’s school have sponsored a Massai Village in Kenya for a number of years and the sixth form go out each year to help with teaching the children, building works etc. To date they have raised funds for a fresh water supply, building a school house and their current project is to raise the money for teacher’s accommodation. The girls (and parents) hold various fundraising events in support of the cause and we have decided to try to arrange a PH meet over a weekend in August to do our bit.

Outline details are as follows:

We can accommodate about 20 cars and tents (preferably smallish tents due to space limitations) at our holiday apartments in Torquay.

Arrive Friday night for BBQ and knees-up in our lovely grounds.

Full English breakfast on Saturday morning served by the sixth form.

Saturday hoon across Dartmoor to Devon’s north coast lead by some local TVR guys who know the best roads.

Return Saturday evening for another BBQ and knees-up.

Full English on Sunday morning followed by another hoon or day out of personal choice. We can supply details of all the local attractions.

Should the weather be inclement we have facilities to eat and party indoors. Toilet facilities etc will be available for campers although some “scheduling” may be required.

Initially we would like to establish how many would be interested. Tickets will be approximately £45 per person to include:

Tent pitch for two nights with off-road parking
BBQ x2
Breakfast x2

Some booze (glass of wine or bottle of beer each night) but when its gone its gone, so bring your own if you want more.

SCHEDULED DATE IS 21/22/23 August 2009.

We would like to get a good mix of cars so this is posted on the TVR, Porsche and Ferrari/Lambo forums.

DON’T MISS OUT – A BRILLIANT WEEKEND PARTYING AND HOONING IN SUNNY DEVON FOR NEXT TO NOTHING AND FOR A REALLY GOOD CAUSE. ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE STOODLEY KNOWLE SCHOOL KENYA APPEAL.

Any locals that wish to attend one or both of the BBQ evenings are welcome with tickets at £10 per head. Again numbers will have to be limited so this will be on a first come first served basis.

Please add your name below if interested (include your car please). Please feel free to contact me via my profile if you want more details.

Come on guys this is going to be a great weekendbeerdrinkpartyburgerdriving

I could well be up for this, as long as my lowly MGF is welcome! Need to get Mrs Wanty used to camping in preparation for Creamfields!

Yep, still on Martin but change of format. No longer 2 day event due to lack of attendees.

Meet at our place for breakfast about 10.00am on Sunday 23rd August. Run out to where ever (agreed on the day), then return for BBQ (lots of steak) and loads of beer at about 4.00pm.

Could anyone coming please confirm either on this thread or via my profile.

Clive,

we're still hoping to make it, but have found an over heating problem with the TVR at the moment, if we can get it sorted in time we'll be down.
