Taking next week off for my birthday and wanted to take the dogs to the beach as they have never been before.
So i'm looking for recommendations of dog friendly beaches that ain't too far from Swindon.

Swindons miles from any beach, I think you'd struggle to find a place further in-land biggrin

Which way are you thinking of heading? Pompey?

Other than that, do they let dogs run around the Cotwolds waterpark?

Yep been to the water park before but the fishermen get pissed as my dogs like to chase the ducks even if they go into the watersmile

not sure what way to head but the nearer the better.
anyone know what burnham on sea is like?

Burnham is quite jolly.

Sand Bay near W-s-M is fairly empty most of the time.

mate, head south to Lulworth - nice area, a couple of beaches..

It allows dogs, and durdle door is a nice bay where they can play and swim without much risk... lots of places to walk around there as well..

yeah, its where we head when we want some beach...

Branksome Dene Chine, near Poole.

It's dog-friendly, and about as close to real 'beach' as you'll get near Swindon.

Actually a really nice beach, spent a lot of time around here as a child!

Lyme Regis, dogs are banned on front beach but there are two other long long stretches of beach one running towards Beer and one towards Charmouth.

Just keep an eye on the tides....

Agree, went there last week with my dog, lots of good walks, with plenty of dog friendly pub type B&Bs.

I also went to Slapton Sands, which is not that far across country from Swindon. With Dartmoor, Dartmouth and Brixham near by, made a nice day out.
