Decided to go to B&Q early today to get some last bits so I can finish off my bathroom, I parked
in a complete empty row at the far end of the car park. Spent a few minutes looking for the bits that I wanted then come back out only to see a white van parked next to my car and a guy ahead of me pushing one of those flat trolley
things.
Yep you already guessed what happened nextrolleyes

He squeezes the trolley in between the two vehicles instead of going round them and drags his load of breeze blocks down the front wing of my carfuriousfurious
There was a heated discussion that followed to which all he could tell me was that "it was already like that"
not that i just watched him do it.
Well I ended up calling the police and to be fair they where good, calmed me down a lot, told me to take all his details down and come in to make a statement. I won't hold my breath that I will get anything from his insurance or him.
I just don't get why he thought that he could blatantly lie to me when he saw that I was watching him mad

Erm... What?

This is ridiculous! I can't quite understand why people think they shouldn't take the blame for anything!

Let me know if he doesn't pay up...

Big fking surprise he ain't insuredfurious at least the coppers have taken his van from him.

Do you think i should ask the police to do him for criminal damage as well?

don't piss about - just sue him.

WWW.moneyclaiminline.co.uk is the court service on-line claim service. It only takes 10 minutes to fill in the form and he gets a summons a few days later.

Even if you don't get any money out of him you'll have the pleasure of knowing you wrecked his breakfast and he'll then have a CCJ against him.

Mate, I tried ringing you earlier for a chat, but no answer... Was going to pop over, but wasn't sure if you'd be out or not... If you want to get to the Dorset thing, just let me know. (And if you need to get the car sorted sooner).

Did you get his address?

So sorry to hear about your misery.
I have had three incidents of thugs smashing into my car, once on a stolen motorbike, then a scaffolding lorry and a hit and run driver which was spotted by the fire brigade. On neither of the occasions I have had any luck in getting them to pay up for the damage incurred despite police reports etc. These people get away with these things all the time whilst honest people can do absolutely nothing.

Don't hold your hopes too high and consider yourself lucky he didn't turn around and hit you. Good Luck

I have just had similar experience to you. I was stuck in traffic at the Royal Cornwall Show ground last Wednesday, we were looking to come into the show, some guy in his Landcrusier was looking to come out (against the flow of traffic). Rather than wait he decided he was going to push his way through, literally. He caught the rear quarter panel of my vehicle, didn’t stop, I only caught him when he got caught in traffic further down the road. When questioned as to what the fcensoredk do you think you were doing, he said all he did was to catch my mirror!!!! Don’t think so mate, I think you need to have a look. He couldn’t believe the damage, I could however and had the clear mindedness to grab the details of a witness who had seen what had happened and got the fellas details. If it wasn’t for the other cars he would have been gone. But is not just that, my vehicle is my business, it’s now off the road for aprox 2 weeks with a cost of around £1500 plus!!!! – just a mirror – I’m afraid not!!!! mad Hope you get yours sorted!!

Keep pushing and don't give in. You'll get satisfaction eventually, one way or another.

Years ago, a hired lorry took off the side of my car and nearly decapitated my (ex-) wife. The driver, needless to say, wasn't insured to drive the lorry. I, and my insurance company, kept pushing and eventually the bailiffs were called in and I got all my money back. Took bloody years however.

Just recently someone hit my car then blatently lied about what happened. Once again, I kept pushing, agreed to go to court... and miraculously the bcensoredd paid up.

But you know what really pisses me off? Despite his lies, he did not get even a slapped wrist. Just paid up later than he would have done, so actually benefited.

Who was it that said "The Law is an ass."?

As far as moneyclaim is concerned, be careful

Pre action protocol dictates you make reasonable attempts to settle prior to action, so if you were to (as advised above) just slap a claim straight in it could get thrown out if you cant show youve made reasonable attempts to settle.

I would recommend sending a Letter before action, giving the scrote 21 days to settle prior to you starting action against him.
