Good afternoon all,

As a treat (It's her 60th Birthday this year) I am taking my mum to see Elton John at the Gloucestershire Cricket ground on June 13th this year... She doesn't know about it yet, but I'll be picking her up in Somerset and driving her there. I've already spent over £150 on two tickets so cannot do some sort of taxi arrangement.

However, I can predict utter parking chaos, and don't fancy trawling nearby streets for a space. If nothing else, it stresses her out something chronic and she's not much of a long-distance walker these days.

Does anyone have any cunning ideas, or failing that a handy driveway I could borrow for the evening for a few beer tokens? The ground is, I believe, at the bottom of Nevil Road.

My eternal gratitude and a happy mum? Priceless smile

Is she a blue badge holder? If so the ground may offer a parking concession. Ashton Gate did when I had tickets for a concert there.

Nope, sadly not. She read through the disabled parking thread on here and decided against it wink

The ground is right next to the college and a new housing development!

I'm not sure if the college parking is left open outside of college hours? They might have an agreement where they let them use the college parking, in which case, if you get there early, you might get a space.

Alas, I live in South Bristol (BS3)... if you could arrange for Elton to move the venue to Ashton Gate then it would be perfect for you.

Ta, I was hoping not to fossick around with cabs. I'll probably just try to get up to Bristol quite early and keep fingers crossed if I can't sort a space. Weather forecast looks alright (Fingerscrossedx2!!)

I used to live on kennington avenue....parking is always a problem round that ares as there isn't enough space for the locals let alone anyone else. There are soo many buses going past that area that you may find it easier to park elsewhere and get a bus
