Anyone up for a GP at St. Eval some time in July?
http://www.cornwallkarting.com/default.htm

I'd prefer sometime towards early/mid july as the missus is due with our first towards the end of the month.

So all being well, i'd like to put forward either weekends of the 4th/5th, 11th/12th, or the 18th/19th (& providing the track is'nt already prebooked- which i'll look into)

There's plenty of notice to get leave passes from wives & Gfs etc etc, so no excuses!biggrin

I went there last summer & it was roughly £50 for about 10min qualifier & 20mins of solid racing.

That was on the above circuit layout, pretty good track & a good laugh- unless you end up with a dodgy, slow kart- but we'll leave that excuse for afterwardshehe

So come on then, whos up for an ass kickingshoot

Oh, that, and the obligitory local pub afterwardsbeer

Right I've spoken to St.EKC & they have a few criterior for us to meet.

  • They can't operate on Sundays, so it's Saturdays only- which may cause a problem for some who work weekends.
  • We will need a Min/Max of 14>23 drivers.
  • £10 deposit/driver- deposits will be made direct to the Kart Center- I'm not getting involved in handling any moneysmile
Before anyone jumps the gun (just incase we can't make numbers), can we get deffinates first- then look at making the deposits?

Costs are £45/ driver- Deposit

Racing is:

5min Qualifier
20 Lap race
Trophy handout afterwards inc. Boobie prize for the worst driver.

I've previsionally booked up Sat the 18th at 12pm as most of the spots have already been taken.

So, who else is up for it?- First come, first servedbiggrin

Then after head off for a spot of lunch & a pint- can anyone suggest a nice place to stop by?

Is the format on the karting fixed then at the 5min quali & 20min race?

I've always thought that multiple shorter races are better for karting.

Tried both, but found a solid race to be better. No messing around- just a straight race.

I tried the heat thing in Prague, while it's nice to have a break ever 10mins, getting back in after each session got harder & harder!

20 laps was just enough before the fun goes out of it.
But i'm open to change if evryone would be happier doing that.

The floor is open.

Anyone else fancy joining us? Crugbun, will your guest be racing too?

To be fair, in your case, that's not too hard!

Is this dying a slow death?

Surely there's a few PH's in the South West who want to get their hands dirty!

It looks to be going that way!

laughI was going to say a cut off date is needed really- as I don't want to mess the circuit around.
If we can't get the numbers by 15th of June, shall we call it off at that point?

It's been running a while, and to be honest, I was expecting to be batting people off with a stickbiggrin

Hey ho!

Come on, must be more out there up for this?!

Had a phone call from the track today- they wanted me to confirm numbers & also if we were still attending.
I said I would call back in a couple of days to deffinately find out whether this is a 'goer' or not.

It looks like we can't do the numbers, so we'll have to ditch it.

Ho Hum, maybe another time...
