Off to Bath tomorrow, taking the old dear in the Battlecruiser since she's never been.

I did work for Parcelforce about 8-10years ago and had an encyclopaedic knowledge of BA1, however have lost touch now.

Is there anywhere in/around the City Centre one can park in for free on Sundays? I don't mind using a car park if pressed but thought someone might know a little hideyhole!

Parking around here (BA1) is only controlled Mon-Sat, so any on-street space or single -yellow line is fair game wink

Nice! smile Thought it might have been, most of Bristol barring the centre is. I will just trawl around until a space presents itself. Well, a fking huge space, naturally. 1 lap then I give up and into a car park!

If you don't have much luck on the streets, the big car park off Charlotte St isn't too bad. Otherwise, there is a little one hidden off Broad St, though that is aimed at short-stay and might get expensive.

NB. The centre is largely one-way.

Thanks! If there's one thing I do remember it's the Machiavellian one-way system and the correct entry/exit points. Do the bus gates work on Sundays?

The Bus Gates are in operation until 18:00hrs every day of the week.

The other car park worth trying is the Waitrose Car Park although I think you are limited to four hours.

Ta all,

Managed to disguise a cheapskate trawl through the streets for free parking as a "tour" for my old mum. Eventually found a space outside the Saracen's Head despite the stupid woman who overtook me whilst waiting in her Ka and tried to barge in.

Audi A8 kerbweight- Around 1.9 tons
Ford Ka kerbweight- About 10 bags of sugar.

Needless to say, it didn't happen. Incidentally there was another space in front which she unsuccessfully tried to park in. About the same size as the one I was in!

BANES want you to take the loser cruiser in to bath now, and are making it slowly impossible to get into bath.

Was in Bath this weekend on Saturday night. Friend of mine lives just behind the Crescent and the closest place to park he knew of was on Weston Road which runs alongside the golf course.

Left it overnight and no smashed windows, which was nice. That's probably about as close to town as you can get without paying.
