MK5 Golf GT TDI chipped/chipping/tuning chips
Discussion
Hi Peps, Can anyone recommend a chip for my 2004 mk5 golf gttdi 140? I've looked at a few, but they all say "oh it COULD increase your bhp" and "it MAY increase you MPG" and they can be priced between £16.99 to £200. Well before I spend that kind of money I would like to know excactly what bhp increase, how much better my mpg would be. So can anyone recommend a chip?

I took my Passat to APS at Brackley - Ed is a top chap and went through all the figures for me. My 130 auto finished up as 170 - was kicking out over 140 as standard, which is quite common. Torque was most fun

take it to an indipendant dyno first for a baseline, then take it back to the same indi dyno after for a comparrison.
Dont believe any of the st of just plugging in a tune and off you go, check out how the car runs first then check out after to see if the claims are up to the facts.
M-tech is a good dyno based in Trowbridge

They may even be able to do your tune but whatever you do I would recommend a before run, tune, after run to just see if its worth it. A lot of tunes simply wallop a st load more fuel in from less throttle position to give the feel of more power. Consider what that is doing to your clutch.
