It was a great day out last Sunday and I was pleased to meet everybody. Which got me thinking about another trip sometime. How about meeting at the Aviator again, taking the A40, the A4136 through the Forest Of Dean to Monmouth, then the A466 Wye Valley Road to Chepstow, over the old bridge and then back via the A38?? With a bit of thought and a recce I (or somebody else) could sort out a number of RVPs on-route so that we could stop now and then and keep together. Plenty of pubs along the way for lunch, or skip lunch and just drive round.

Any other ideas would be welcomed

Sounds good to me, there are some good roads there. It would be worth a reccy, then maybe marking up a map, photocopying and distributing. Or maybe mark up map, scan it and email to folks.

I'm up for this, was a bit gutted to miss the last one.

You can't do a run without a lunch in it though ... smile

Mish - you are so right about lunch. I suppose I'll have to force myself to check out the en-route pubs. Such is life

OK then, so who's up for it?? I did the full route this weekend, which is about 80 miles starting and finishing at the same place. The roads are great, especially the A466 Wye Valley road. I've noted the positions of the fixed speed cameras and a couple of places to pull over and re-group. The Boat Inn at Redbridge (a few miles south of Monmouth) is a great little quirky pub reached by a footbridge over the river who did an awesome ploughman’s lunch. www.theboatpenallt.co.uk

How about Easter??

Rob it was good meeting you the other week - I am more than up for another blast once the clocks change and roads dry out.

Just canvas opinion and organise it and people will turn up!!

I'm in, as long as it doesn't co-incide with the Red Dwarf special !!!

I'm sure I can drag a couple of mates along too, they drive Audi's (no ones perfect wink ) but are good lads and really into their cars !!

Subject to weather of course, who's OK for Easter? I'm OK for any of the 4 days but I'll kick off and suggest Sunday

Likewise with the RD specials

Salad was supposed to come last time but didn't show sadly. Be good to see him and Craig for a run out.

Rob, the run you have planned sounds great. Well up for another one.

I'm up for another run. I reckon maps/mobile numbers etc would be good this time after the other week - google sounds a good idea, and maybe some stops along the way to allow the slower cars (or drivers)to catch up? Pub is a good one, great food (and beer!). I'm free over easter so count me in!
