Okay, so I think we'll all agree the last Wiltshire meet was a resounding success (thanks Pulse!).

I really enjoyed the drive element of the meet... and nice to head to the pub afterwards...

From the reflective point of view - i think the best photo's are those taken on the dual carrigeway of the cars in motion - and think it would have been lovely if we could have gotten a decent quality photo of everyones car like that...
(I have a SLR i can bring to the next one, and i'll hop in as a passenger if everyone would like this).

Also, the drive past videos from the pub are pretty good... and again I think it'd be great if we could get a decent video/photo of everyones car on a drive past (at legal limits of course)..

I know a few people have mentioned a BBQ - though this takes a lot of organising (which xenoside did in a previous meet)..

so really, this is just a thread to bounce ideas around and see what people want?

gonna jump in and say massive yes to the SLR!!! biggrin

and yes the best pics were from the dual carriageway, so should def be an element of the next meet.

well, i think if people want it, it should be well planned for a single car to pass all the others, holding speed to get the photo..
(not sure how we'll get a picture of mine and the camera car, but we can worry about that one on the day...)

Perhaps using the motorway would be better too - more space to play with?

Yeah it would def have to be a bit more organised for the pics on the move, as opposed to me attempting to draw alongside unsuspecting drivers. lol.

As for the motorway.....not sure about that, although there is more space there is generally more traffic too so doubt we'll gain much out of it to be honest.

Just a thought, how about trying to join this event and an airfield event together then the photo opportunities
would be made a lot easier and not get in the way of other motorists?

I'll drive your car! (Purely in the interest of getting some good photos, of course)

There is definitely scope for vehicle-related japery at Wroughton; last time I was up there, there was a motorbike drag session going on.

If you can't make it onto the main runway and taxiway's at Wroughton I know where there's a public bit of road that leads up to a little industrial estate up there that used to be an old taxiway, normally very quiet and good for a few photo's and stuff smile

I do photography but mostly people, I dont mind bringing both cameras one for zoome one for wide angle and I'm sure I can get Sarah to drive whilst I shoot

ETA I have been given access to Wroughton before, just never used it. I went via the Science museum. I do believe, from my pikey brother in law, you can actually get to other areas of the field via the go-kart area also. There are a few abandonned airfields locally too which are a bit more friendly. One of which is a working museum, the other is just outside Clyffe Pypard (sp) near nebo farm. Might work for sme atmospheric shots and its not far from some excellent routs

I've just found one on google earth somewhere right near here at Brize Norton called Broadwell Airfield. Looks quite arty and scenic so will have a drive down today and see what it's like.

Here is Fidgit's idea, which I think would make a good base for a start. We can either amend it to make it longer, or just do that little drive, and head off to the airfield/similar (if we can find anything). Would be great to find a nice open space where we can take some really excellent photos.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&a...

Is there anywhere where we can get some shots of all of the cars, up high?
