Accessable Airfileds...?

It does seem there are a few airfields around the UK that one can perhaps use (with the risk of tresspassing) for a little runway blast...

Of course, knowledge is everything on this... so i was wondering if anyone knew of any in the south west area?

the bit that runs parallel with the A372 is ok and plenty long enough for 1/4 mile runs

Edit to add: There's also a microlight club on the other side (runway running 160/340 degrees) who might be ok with a few runs if you ask nicely.

Smeatharpe used to be open access, but these days is mostly fenced off. Local model flying clubs and a few others seem to use it occasionally, but don't know how one goes about arranging access.

Ask Lee@LA, he organised some drag racing there last year (Dakota Dragstrip).

Smetharpe is iffy at the moment due to a Noise Issue I am given to understand.

Davidstowe is wrecked and Smaetharpe is no more except for private testing due to noise regs.

If we do go to an airfield, it has to have decent tarmac. Don't want damage to my car. (Sorry to probably be the only boring one! )

Try going down Langstone Way in West Swindon! Potholes are at least a foot wide, and probably almost as deep!
