Witlshire meet photos..
Discussion
Okay, here are some of my photos from todays Wiltshire meet
Early start meeting in the car park...
and off we go for a little drive...
It wasnt long till half the convoy got lost though... so a quick stop to let them catch up...
Then back we go...
Pulse looking perplexed... and missing the turnoff due to posing for pictures
LuckyL and his Aston...
Then stuck in Swindon traffic due to Pulse missing the turning...
I didn't get any pictures of the speed bump route Iain!
Then to the pub for a spot of lunch..
Astra Owners club meeting?
Its fine Iain!
LuckyL decided to distract him from his bonnet with a little run out in the Vantage..

Worth mentioning that road was a NSL, and at no point did the car exceed the speed limit

Some pics from me... I've not bothered blanking out the plates as I don't see the point, however if anyone has issues, let me know and I'll remove the photo.
I arrived second at the meeting point after misjudging the length of time needed to drive from Yate to Swindon - appears that Sundays are quieter than weekdays.... who knew!
Organiser Pulse arrived soon enough.
He was soon followed by plenty of others,
Including a TVR with... shock horror... the roof up!
Peer pressure soon resulted in its removal though - although it was noted that the roof made a reappearance following the halfway halt!!
Leaving the garden centre we immediately got stuck in a traffic jam from hell at the first major junction thanks to temporary lights not in sync with the main lights.
This meant that half the cars got lost and it required some "spirited" driving behind the Aston for us to catch up with the rest of the crew.
Eventually we all regrouped and set off again behind Pulse in the Astra, listening to the aural delights of the Aston on song and the Monaro on overrun.
Sat in front of the very white ST listening to his induction noise as well I pondered why I'd bothered to bring the stereo front and Ipod!
The S2000 is a great looking car, and (contrary to opinion at the lunch) isn't a girls car at all.
The only downside to it is that it really doesn't make much of a noise.
It was on this section that we discovered the biggest surprise of the day... apparently no-one told the Rav4 driver that he was in a diesel SUV - as mentioned elsewhere, our conclusion was that he was getting aural pleasure of a different kind.
We managed to stay together until a final "spirited" run down the 419 saw us end up at Churchill's for dinner.
We caused much amusement at several roundabouts on the way.
Some other PHers were joining us for lunch and they had already arrived in a very smart looking Vette and the wonderful Superleggera
After a spot of lunch the driver of the superleggera decided to leave and con-incidentally everyone else discovered a need to be in the car park also!
What a rear end!
The few of us that were left were treated to the sights and sounds of the Vantage doing a few passenger runs - I don't care what it costs, I want one of these more than just about anything I've ever wanted before.
Everywhere we went it got a positive reaction, heads turned, people smiled. Astons really do seem to have a place in the national psyche.
I make no apologies for including so many photos of such a wonderful car.
One of the few times today it was safe to take a photo of the dash - for reasons of passenger safety officer, not what the dials were showing of course!
Following a little test run around the block, the difference in facial expression between the guy who drives 12k a year in it and the first time passenger were quite marked!
It's a shame there's no sound to go with this shot, trust me, it sounded awesome.
You did a good job with this one Dean... she's a cracker

Here's my photos. I haven't blanked plates, but can change the photos if anyone wants me to. But, seeing as we didn't go over 65mph today, no-one has to worry too much
Waiting for people to catch up after going the wrong way, we thought we'd all take some photos. I can't remember who it was now, but someone was in the road, and a car on the other side of the road slowed right down, as he was a bit confused!
Fidgits' new car!
This car is very quiet...
So is this one... Could barely hear it!
Really liked this - even if it is 'only' (in SBDJ's words) the 16v!
Hmmm, can I convince the OH that we could live with an Elise?
Love how well the S1 Elises have aged. Shows a good design!
Fidg and Christina enjoying some top down motoring!
Christina in front of the 'vette and ST
SBDJ with his lovely baby. I got quite a shock when I looked in the back of his car!
At this point, Dave said "I don't want a photo taken with Fidgits! I can't be associated with him!"
In return, Fidg thought he'd get a little friendly!
The two blue cars together! (Was nice of Mr Vette to say my car looked nice, even if he did only mean the colour! )
Ok for a shopping car, I suppose...
Love this!
I'll leave Fidg to explain this photo...
Big thumbs up to the fella on the right who bought me my drink. Very nice of you, thank you (I think he was just hinting that I should save up for a better car! )
