Spotted 3 of what looked like little cameras on tripods above each lane of the M4 this morning. This was on the first bridge after you join the M4 at J18 east-bound. They don't appear to conform to any speed camera type i recognise so does anyone know what they are (if they were even cameras!)??? On my return there were 3 traffic Police cars sat about 2 miles (max) down the road in a lay-by, which did make me wonder further.

I've seen these before...3 cameras on tripods, a police van parked just out of sight on the bridge and a car just down the road. ANPR?

Remind me what VOSA would be doing? Is that checking we've got valid tax, real plates etc on the car?

Were still there in the evening with a couple of unmarkeds lurking a couple of miles further up. Had to get out of the way sharpish for one of them as he'd obviously got a hit.

The panic brakers were out in force at the bridge itself though rolleyes

They are still there. Trouble is you get these prcensoreds who are doing 90mph+ in the fast lane, then they see the cameras, yank the brakes on, and then turn the fast lane into a slow lane, whilst you carry on doing 60mph in the proper slow lane and pass thembyebyehehe.

... sorry but what complete WAcensoredKERS they are
