Drove past this mess this morning on the way to work. Honestly, quite how someone could possibly come down to the end of the M32, fail to turn left, launch himself over the central reservation, total an A6, then slam into a shop wall taking out 3 colossal plate glass windows in process is completely beyond me. Anyone get caught up in the bedlam trying to get from Temple Meads to the motorway?

From the news it sounds like the driver of the Puma himself hit the window! Not wearing a seatbelt maybe? Must have certainly been going some considering it's now a 30mph zone half a mile before the initial impact point AND he had to go through a set of traffic lights. Covered some impressive distance in flight by the looks too. :S

Today was the one day I had to drive in (from Bath), and this incident coupled with the emergency sewer works nr. Temple Meads meant getting into Brissle today from the east was an utter nightmare. Took me 2-1/2hrs for a 35minute run...

PS as architectural criticism goes, I could support driving a Puma into Cabot Circus at high speed....

I saw that today!

I wondered why the two glass panels had a different appearance to the rest, then I assumed they had sprayed it with that Christmas spray stuff.

Then I looked on the BBC Bristol website, it all became apparent then eek

Ideally a car transporter loaded with semtex-filled Pumas.
