Any Truronians here?
Discussion
Thought we would venture down south across Border Control for the weekend & have booked into the Brookdale.
Where is best to eat out?
We're not really fussy, just want a nice setting & then onto some decent pubs in the centre- not really looking for God's waiting room either- please, no Blue Oyster Bars either
Anyone have any recommendations?

Well don't expect much from Brookdale's for a start unless you like the 70's deco they have there which is still there from the 70's!!Where is best to eat out?

Snozzleonian (St. Austell) here - often down truro to pick up the V Power though!
Depends what food you're after. I would highly recommend going out of truro though to this excellent pub nearby - on the A30 at a village called Mitchell. It's called 'The Plume of Feathers' and would more than cater food and beer wise. Has plenty of parking, especially if you're car is quite low.
One of my fave pubs - here's the link:

You wont need sunglasses, it's not bright, more dull 70's. A bit like off that film - The 13th Floor !
Avoid the Eclips Club.....Cornwall's answer to the Blue Oyster!
Bloody hell, you wer'nt wrong about the decorAvoid the Eclips Club.....Cornwall's answer to the Blue Oyster!
Stay was pleasant enough though, Mannings was great, thanks...never made it to the Plume of Feathers though
We got lost around Cornwall & I could not find my way out of Falmouth -Much to the missus enjoyment- I told her we catagorically did not need a map. Bloody place
You got lost in falmouth? lol. I was out and about saturday - fowey, newquay, and truro - didnt make it to falmouth though. Saw the forecast was rain for sat night so shes nicely tucked up in the garage under her winter blanket till the next time!
Defo mark P.O.F. for your next meal/pub though - I use any excuse to go there now - whens mothers day next?!

WHEN R WE ALL GOING TO MEET UP ?????
When the weather improves!! #-)WHEN R WE ALL GOING TO MEET UP ?????
Any ideas for a route? Could meet somewhere near or in Truro, and head from there (central venue for most of Cornwall). I think a lot of people may be tied up in the run up for Xmas, so perhaps either do it soon, or leave it until the new year?

OK - how does this sound...
PH - Cornwall Meet
Saturday/Sunday 21/22 Feb
Meet (Mid morning - Location TBC)
Lunching at Plume of Feathers (or other good pub)
Meet up for the one day, do a mini tour around Cornwall (ideas as to where?) And then end up at Plume of Feathers (Mitchell/A30) or another good pub for lunch.
One day over the weekend of Saturday/Sunday 21/22 Feb? (weather dependent so we dont drench our P&J's!)
If this is a goer, I'll post up a seperate thread.
Possible List:
jasoncorn - TVR Tuscan
robbydee - ?
devout gooner - ?
shirazjiwa - Fezza 348
