Having a belated Honeymoon next week.
So for when the novelty wears off, can anyone recommend places to go/see/visit etc
Something quirky, off the beaten track, slightly unusual.
Anything considered.

Cheers,
Tel

Not particularly quirky, but Living Coast is worth a visit:

The coastal path south from Torquay through Paignton to Brixham is very pleasant, topped off by a cream tea alongside the harbour in Brixham, then a bus ride back.
Walking north is good and takes you to the beach at the bottom of Oddicombe hillclimb. Walk to the top and get the bus back again.
OK if it's not p*ssing down as it was when we did the walk to the north. The winds off the sea on the cliff top were 'challenging' to say the least!

If you want to have a drive
Take the ferry from kingswear over to dartmouth. Worth looking around for a few hours. Then the coast road to strete, slapton on to kingsbridge, totnes ( full of colourful people and hippy shops) rounding off back to Torquay.
Plymouth worth a look too.

Most places I'd suggest have already been mehtioned.

Totnes is nice for wandering around.

The Churston Court Hotel (go along the coast road past paignton and turn left before brixham) is nice to visit for sunday lunch. It's an old building with lots of character, weapons on the wall and big fireplaces. The kids love it. We often take MrsCs godparents there but don't bother midweek.

There's always Dartmoor.

If you fancy a longer trip then there's the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth and the Eden Project in Cornwall. We liked the Eden Project, as did most of my friends, but it got the thumbs down from most PHers when it was last mentioned here.

MrsCs mum lives in Paignton by the way.

Brixham harbour...went a couple of years ago and it hadn't changed a bit from my childhood memories.

Love the place.

Has it gone up more than a few times?

I'd say the Round Robin trip from Paignton, with additional ferry to Dartmouth castle is a good day out smile

Later today I'm driving down to Torquay to stay for a few days byebye
