Not looking good for those of us needing to head south out of Bristol:

Happens every bank holiday but thought I'd remind you all just in case frown

Edit: not sure why this thread's been tagged an 18! Meant to tag it as "STOP"

Should be ok for you going northbound. It's all the Northerners/Londoners descending on the South West that cause the problems. If only the A303 was a motorway......

I should be OK if I head up the M50. Still have to deal with Birmingham and the M5/M6 interchange.

That is always crap.

Avoid the A40 too. Roadworks west of Gloucester, and roadworks all through Cheltenham too.

Balls, the free Trafficmaster on the Vauxhall website is now £££££, can anyone show me what the A303 between Andover and Exeter currently looks like?

Absolutely no help to you now Tuffers but at 4 this afternoon the afternoon the 303 was showing 50 minute delays!

Amusingly the comedians who put together the Highways Agency Traffic Information reckoned that the delays on the M5 (Cribs to J.21 ) that were due to heavy traffic would clear at 5pm laugh 5pm Tuesday maybe!!

Surprisingly, driving out of town to W-o-T at 5.45pm there was absolutely no traffic, it's usually a mess on BH Friday.

They were all down at J26-J27 rubbernecking a crash Northbound which triggered 3 more. M5 stopped both ways and I needed a pee! Was busting after 40 minutes...

Too true, although I've now got embedded in my mind a route that is a similar concept to the A303, but only uses about twenty miles of it. Sometimes you can do Mid Sussex to Bodmin in 4 1/2 hrs which I don't think is bad.

Motorways..... Nah!

The M5 wasn't too bad until I got a few miles South of Brum, then it was nose to tail all the way up the M5, and then the M6 up to Preston.

Miserable bloody drive.

Took me five hours.

Thank feck I didn't go down the A303 apparently it was slooooooooow.
