Drove past a Silver Vauxhall Vivaro/Renault Traffic sitting south bound- just after the very steep hill (Holdam Hill???) & twisty bits past Exeter.

That's the second time in a month I have driven past what I think is the same vehicle sitting in the same layby with nobody in the front seats- the rear was completely blacked out.

Made me think, if it was a Scamera van...if so, I maybe getting a letter in the post frown

I have heard that some forces in Wales are using old vans to catch motorists speeding- are Devon & Cornwall now doing this?

Anyone else noticed the same van?

Indeed my friend I came across this van near West Hill (Ottery St Mary) 2 weeks ago and last week in Avonwick nr Totnes , so far I may have 2 in the posteek I was probably doing around 36 in a 30 , but these weren,t pedestrianised areas that needed defending , just a series of driveways joining the road , I don,t know about you but I tend to drive to the environment I,m in , if its a town I,m doing less than 30 or sometimes 15 if its a busy one , but these didn,t strike me as areas full of pedestrian activity that needed defending and I,d seriously like to see the accident statistics , the signage in the Westhill 30 is an absolute joke , you only just see the 30 as you round the bend (downhill) and your in the 30mph just fodder for the camera and the camera sign (a legal requirement I think ) is practically hidden until your on camera , I revisited the scene to take photos as I fully intend to defend my licence if it comes to it.

On another note , if its a problem area , where I come from they put up yellow bordered 30mph signs or even better the interactive flashing signs , thats called prevention and actually has a long term effect rather than catching out a few random offenders , this is something different , I think they call it...entrapment.

A "high priority" 30 mph zone , note the massive signs..not

This is all you see as you approach the zone , signs could perhaps be placed before the bend ?

and this is the money shot...for them that is , the van appears where the cone is , less than 50 yards from the camera sign.
