I have to work in the Exeter area for a week in September and I'm looking for a decent hotel with a gym.

There don't seem to be many around, so can anyone suggest one? Budget will be aboout £100 B&B and I'm working near the Sowton Industrial Estate, EX2 7HY.

I know there are hotels about without gyms, so as an alternative does anyone know of a gym in the area that doesn't insist on inductions and all that rubbish, but will take session/weekly customers?

TIA

Why is it appropriate for PH'ers?

And $64,000,000 question....how much?? Look to be above my client's limit somehow....

Owned by Nigel Mansell, loads of memorabilia dotted around, and IIRC was about £250 for a 3 night stay last year for us.

Is it still? Am sure last time I stayed they were moving away from the Mansell decor. Not the best if you need a central location as it is a few miles away.

No longer owned by Mansell, sold last year, but still some of the memorabillia around and worth a visit to the Mansell museum to view the wondeful array of trophies. Mansell being one of the first drivers to insist on keeping all the silverware, before separate trophies awarded to the team.

Good gym, 20m pool, tennis courts and two golf courses so plenty of facilities. Should be less than £100 b/b p/n. It' on the right side of Exeter to Sowton (circa 5 miles), the only downside would be no dining facilities within walking distance other than the hotel. There are a few good pubs in area.

Sounds good. I'm happy to drive for food; I know Topsham, Budleigh Salterton and a few other places from a few years ago. Have Good Beer Guide, will travel!

For good pub / bistro food, would certainly recommend the Jack in the Green on the Rockbeare straights (old A30) and the Puffing Billy in Exton, neither too far from Woodbury Park. Otherwise there's quite a few options in Topsham.

Thanks; however, at £120/night B&B my client will probably not swing for that venue.

Bugger.

Hotel Barcelona in the City Centre. Used to be an old eye hospital. Very nice smile

Try eating at Starz (ask for directions, its underneath the iron bridge - they'll know where you're talking about!) - good food, and even better cocktail list!
