Saw the large plume of smoke coming from the seafront as I joined the M5 at Weston. Quite a few happy memories as a boy on that pier, so it's a very sad sight to see it in flames frown

Yes, very sad news. My girlfriend has lived in WSM her whole life, loads of memories of going there when we were younger. Wonder what they'll do with it now?

Would not be at all surprised to see a club there in the future

KM already made a step towards a more adult theme by placing a bar on there

As a Westonian I'm gutted it's gone and there is no doubt some of the stuff inside as well as the pavillion itself cant be replaced (ghost train has been there since I was a nipper)

However, when I saw a woman on TV saying she cried for 4 hours I was shaking my head in disbelief

Then there were the "looters" -

"Things like this dont happen every day!, oi got a can of peaches and 3 pound coins"

And for this (a can of peaches thatr had been burnt, fallen from the pier, stuck in mud and rinsed in brine), you risked having a few six inch nails through your foot?

The owner also allegedly had a hotel that wasn't doing too well, burnt down surprisingly.
