Decent places to eat, near/around Swindon?
Discussion
Anyone got any recommendations? Particularly chinese/curry, as that is what the OH prefers.
We normally go
here - http://www.swindonrendezvous.co.uk/
or here - http://www.themaharajah.co.uk/
But just wondering if anyone else has any ideas?

Cosmo in town - chinese, japanese, wide selection and reasonable price
Chinese Experience A.K.A The Pagoda in Peatmoor
Thai Orchid in Victoria Hill - Old Town
Oh curry too!
Spicy Bites - Victoria Hill - diagonally opposite The Vic - cheap, cheerful, service is second to none and a giggle
Biplob - next to McKenzies in Old Town - slightly more upmarket
Jewel in the Crown - proper traditional curry house with chandeliers and everything!

The Three Crowns, Brinkworth.
Best place i have found around the area, amazing food.
Plus a nice little drive to get there
Totally agree, that and the Pear Tree - if I'd known how good their cheese trolley was I wouldn't have bothered with the main course :PBest place i have found around the area, amazing food.

Judging by the OP's query though, I wasn't sure whether he wanted upmarket english/french fare.

Three Crowns now take bookings for tables before 7:30pm! Cracking place - always got a wide variety of dishes (had Impala there last week!)
I'd agree with the Pear Tree too - always excellent.
Biplob in old town is pretty good for curry (though that's usually beer-impaired)
As for others, we often end up in Fabios in old town for Italian and there's also a decent (if small) tapas place in old town (the name of which I can't remember).
Colley's supper rooms in lechlade is also excellent: anywhere that does a syrup sponge so massive that it looks like it was baked in a builders mixing bucket can't be bad!
hmmm, getting hungry now...
