RAF Portreath

Someone told me today about a 1/4 mile drag event at RAF Portreath.

Apparantly they meet twice a year, does anybody know anything about the event, or any of the organisers. I've had a quick google but only found old events.

Dakota is different and run at Smeatharpe near Honiton.

Just stumbled upon this thread so I hope you don't mind me adding my thouhgts: The RAF Portreath run what ya brung certainly used to be run by the Celtic Marauders, and was a predominately bike focused event. I seem to remember the odd M3/Ford RS having a blast and even the odd hot-rod, but as I said, predominately bikes. I think the first event was in 1998 and was very low key, and it grew in popularity from there. Whether or not it's still going I have no idea - bit out of my area now...

The current event is pretty much for bikes only. Although, i am incontact with the guy who is organising a car only event at Portreath.

I took my Clio along a couple of years back and the organisers were happy to let me run. There was a TVR club there too, along with a few other individual runners, and of course the many bikes.

I'll see if I still have the info on it and I'll post it up.

The MC was most amused to see a Clio just like his Gran's giving a (classic) 911 a run for its money!

Tuscan all back together and raring to go, hopefully i can take her down the strip a few times

Not sure you will get a place to run it. According to the the Club it's just a couple of the groups cars running. Will be mainly bikes but the cars will be on display!! Should be a good day. See you there
