Being a relative newbie on here!

Just wondered if there were any car clubs in the Weston-super-Mare area.

Love driving love cars. Unfortunatly stuck with a company focus at the moment!


Any comments would be most appreciated!!

Any particular car type or general? I think there are some Classic Car clubs and a few one-marque clubs.

General really! Just enjoy driving and thought there might be some like minded people about!

There is these guys, not been involved but have seen them on the air field doing the auto test stuff.

Other than that, I suppose it depends what you are after, boy racers meet in the Macdonalds car park, a VW club meets in side Macdonalds, there are other groups that I see around from time to time.

You could try the guys at South West Performance Car Club.

Its a general club for all marques. They attend different shows etc but also arrange sprint events and track events. They are a friendly bunch.

Are you looking for an active motorsport club or a social motorclub?

Active motorsport, rallies hillclimbs etc, then Burnham On Sea Motorclub for a social club with a regular monthly meeting then Weston Motorclub.

Both clubs are active and organise events locally. I have to admit i'm biased as i'm Vice Chairman of Burnham Motorclub.

Where does the Burnham motorclub meet? I have lived 10 minutes away for the last 9 years (East Huntspill) and didnt know it existed. As for WSM I know lotus (Seloc) meet at locking sometimes and then there is obviously the Gorge which is well worth going to if you can make one of those PH meets, sadly i missed the last.

Hi Shell.

We have a monthly meet (sadly often poorly supported) at the Knowle Inn Bawdrip on 1st monday of the month. But a couple of times a year we hold a skittles match at the Red Cow, against Weston Motor Club. We do have a website but it is often lacking in info. I am trying to get the monthly mag put on it. We are predomently a Rally and Speed Event club.

Ah thanks for that. unfortunately not really into the rally scene and my car doesnt go that fast.

My ears pricked up when I heard about Burnham-on-Sea Motor Club too - I'm about 2-3 miles from there. But like the above post I'm not into Rally and Speed events TBH. May pop to a meeting sometime during Summer though, just to see what goes on.
