Six years ago my commute to work from Taunton changed from north on the M5 to Burnham on Mud to south to Exeter. As of Monday I've been heading north again but this time to Bristol.

There are several notable M5 landmarks en-route but one of them seems to have disappeared recently. Humphrey the Bridgwater Camel seems to have gone AWOL!

I'm sure he was there not that long ago when I took Mrs FR for one of her regular retail therapy sessions at the Mall. Anyone know what's happened to him?

I believe it was a freak yachting accident.

Either that or it was frightened off by Rich's Parkway Holocaust Cerbera.

He hasn't been there since Christmas. He normally goes AWOL at that time of year then takes up residence in his field again but sadly no sign of him so far this year.

He's back! Saw him (and Humph Junior) back in his usual place this morning, looking freshly painted just in time for the Bank Holiday emmets... biggrin
