your best bet is straight along the m4 more than likely and then round the m25 to what ever junction you need to come off. depending on speed you drive at (70 or more) then at legal limit i would say your looking 2 hours to get to the m25, maybe a touch less. a good bet is give yourself 3 1/2 hours as its early morning and your going during a rush hour!!! hopefully someone else will have better knowledge.
if your not far outside bristol then maybe think looking at the A303? i take that route every weekend to get to basingstoke and can make radstock to basingstoke in 1hr 15 with good traffic and the M25 os only and extra 30 mins up the M3 from that. hope this helps

Schools I think are off so I would go M4 and then up M25 onto the A40 just past the Airfield there is a tube station. Leave the car there and get the tube in. I go from junction 18 m4 to london usually two hours on an average day.

I'll be allowing 3 hours from the Forest on Wednesday, M48,then M4/A4 to Hammersmith, park up at Kings Mall at Hammersmith then tube across to Warren Street.

I do that route at least 4 times a month and 3 hours is easy going and not having to worry about being late.

Just call the 0845 900 1234 number and give them your credit card details and ask them to e-mail the receipt to you.
