Thought someone had taken my car when I spotted this V8S trundling through Exmouth on Monday. Same colour, same wheels, one number different from mine. Seem to remember someone saying they had similar car/plate to me, is it PHer called cremebrulee or similar?

Sounded lovely anyway smile

Think I remember seeing this car in Exmouth a couple of years back, dark red, driven by an oldish chap iirc (I'm only 23, don't be offended Mr Oldish Chap!)...I probably posted on here about seeing it at the time.

When I had my TVR's there was often a V8S rumbling around East Devon with a VBS plate, so possibly the same one still going strong. Apologies, as well, as I though he was elderly and that was in the nineties, year not his age??? smile

Hi there flow - slight digression, but I don't suppose this might be your GT3, pre-delivery, parked outside Porsche Centre Exeter back in August? It was definitely worthy of a photograph!

I used to be regularly burbling around East Devon in my old V8S (cooper green with a VBS reg), but I sold it a couple of years ago. I know the owner of the dark red one, ex-RO of the local TVRCC, but I've not seen any others around recently.

Grahams is my old car. It resides a little further east than Exmouth now, but maybe it is one of his favourite haunts - I don't know.

Hope I don't see/hear it around too much, as it'll only make me want it back!

Hello fid. Well spotted, it was there for about three weeks, whilst waiting for 1 September registration. Fantastic car, used daily as the weekly muck and grime will testify at the end of the week. Looking forward to some dryer weather and new tyres!

Hello Porlock. No longer in Exmouth, lived there for a year whilst re-building our house. Often used to spot your Elise in the morning; stood out amongst the other regulars that passed in the morning commute. Was driving a silvery coloured 996 C2 prior, so you probably spotted that one as well.

I guess it was the Stealth Colour that you noticed??

I don't envy anyone the journey from Exmouth to Exeter in the mornings! and visa-versa in the afternoon, Worst traffic queue in Devon I would guess.

Nothing wrong with yellow, great colour, should have more on the roads.

Agree that any commute from East Devon into Exeter is dreadful, Exmouth into Exeter probably the worse. After many years working in town, now based at Topsham, so no longer have to leave early enough in the morning or late enough in the evening to miss the traffic.

Yes, I know that car, nearly bought it in 2005, when it was owned by someone else.

Morning Porlock,

passed you this morning whilst waiting to turn into Hulham Road, flashed lights and waved, then realised not in the usual car and you'd probably wonder who the hell it was in a very dirty red 997S!

It's a 'loaner' from Carrs, so getting full use and no cleaning!

Different route or driving across the common for a nice change of scenery?

Yes did spot you!

Tried to flash back, but i might have been a bit late.

Would complain to Adrian Oxley if he's giving you a Dirty Car to use. He lent us a Black one as a course car at Wiscombe Hillclimb last year, that one was clean.

No complaints to Adrian over dirty car, is was clean when I collected it.

Back to normality now, GT3 back from Carrs yesterday, with some nice new rubber to replace the very worn Cup tyres and now it's stopped raining, although sure that won't be for long.

Morning Porlock!

I was also running late, but fortunately I work down on the old Tremletts boatyard, so it's very satisfying when you reach the back of a long, long queue, then turn left, cut through Ebford and come out at the back entrance to the office.
