Does anyone know if you can get on the old airfield at Wroughton? Have been karting there many times but after watching the last top gear and having a look on google earth, seems like the runway and taxiway's are in good nick.

Not really. It's owned by the Science Museum and the access to the runway is gated. There are a couple of taxiways you can get to, but they're not very long and the easiest one runs over a blind crest, so with businesses in the hangars there there's not much opportunity to get your toe down.

IIRC your a mover at Lyneham?
Go & speak to Mel in Clothing stores...he heads up the RC Aero club (they fly a replica herc)
& fly from Wroughton, see if he can give you a contact for the airfield.

You guys could try to pull some weight and get us on to Hullavington. They do track days there so I am sure a little word in the shell of whoever is looking after the place should get us on. I think its mostly army corps there now as they run a glider club.

Really? Never tried to approach as there is a lot of commercial stuff run there so never thought of trying. I know the lads at abingdon used to turn a blind eye to people going on there, until a few idiots started racing and crashing.

Try www.motorsport-events.co.uk/  they run events at both Hullavington & Keevil, both good venues.

I have used them a couple of times and have been very happy with their set up and value for money.

hey everyone needs boxes shifting. When he had is interview he was told "when you leave you will have a career ahead of you". They were right, couriers make a fortune. Still could be worse, he could be signals.

I live near there and got the information for legitimate access to this.

its owned by the RAF so didnt really fancy sneeking on there for a quick run for fear of being landed on lol

its less than £2 grand to hire for the day to have multiple people on the track/runway area but they require £5m of public liability insurance. and an ambulance (like st johns) on site

you then get in to the relms of marshaling and noise restrictians it could get messy basicaly.

I had thought about doing one with friends and family for a cheap track day but its a very difficult thing to arrange.
