Here we go, I really want a track toy that I can fully abuse, the TVR is too loud and the Mk1 Golf is too rare to strip so....

I have bought a Mk2 Golf 16V, it's a 3dr Kjet with no PAS, I bought it for £150 needing a gearbox, six pounds later with a new gear linkage it's back on the road! wink

This will be a budget project costing a grand focused on research, resourceful purchasing and above all graft.

I already have a pair of slotted Recaros that came out of the Mex, a Momo and a K&N the rest will follow, the biggest expense will be the cage at some stage.

I just want a car I can put into the tyre wall and laugh!

Anyway, keep you posted!

Having been into trackday racing myself for a few years, my one piece of advice will be to not fit bucket seats with harnesses before you fit a cage!

Apart from that you will have lots of fun!
