Hi,

I was driving down the A419 and I passed a stationary van with aerial about as tall as the street lamps and "traffic something something" writen on the back. I did n't think anything of it until I had passed it, then I thought I saw camera flashes from inside the windscreen.

I was n't going horrendously fast at the time (certainly not greater than 80) so I figure it must have been a trick of the light. In addition, I would expect that speed cameras would n't be accurate when fired through the windscreen due to tint, curvature or flash reflecting off the glass.

What are the chances that this van was trying to catch speeding motorists?

Thanks,

Ralph.

Sounds like one of the tax vans to me, only after those who haven't paid RFL

If it's like the ones ive seen before it'll be a traffic survey. Just filming behaviour and traffic flow for highways agency research.
