I wonder if anyone has any input on this.

Three times in the past few days while i've been in Cornwall i've seen what I presume is the Devon & Cornwall police helichopper flying "along the road" at not a great amount above the NSL. Now either he's lost and needs the A30 to guide him back to Exeter, or (more likely) they're using it for speed checks?

Any ideas?

I don't think they're certified to do speed checks from helicopters, so doubt it was for that. If the weather's really pants, helicopter (and plane) pilots will tend to follow roads to aid navigation, although the weather's been pretty good lately....

probably a local traffic eye in the sky !!!! BBC Cornwall with too much money on there hands
