Today I went to Ipswich with Mr Hildrew to pick up his latest stablemate a 911 GT3 RS and I have to say what a car. One of 200 normally aspirated 400bhp 2wd stripped, caged, carbon equipped superlight homolagation specials with no driver aids.
I was fortunate enough to clock up over 100 miles on the way back and to be honest it is completely THE best car i have ever driven.
When you intially drive it, the first impression you get is this thing deserves respect, the floating discs take a bit of getting used to so you take it easy and get used to the feedback you get.
The feedback is immense you get so much information it's unreal. Before long you realise the super sharp steering and chassis response are there to help you make the best of the package and within a short time confidence increases, you start to work in synergy with the car and the more miles you click the better it gets.
I may be waxing lyrical but I can honestly say no car I have driven has left me wanting more so much, instead of waiting for David at the Plympton turning tonight I could of quite easily carried on to the ferryport and gunned it across Europe even after ten hours driving.
It's the boocks, thank you David.
Meanwhile I'm going to start the ball rolling for the GT3 RS fund by auctioning one of my kidneys, O.K. it's not had an easy life but if yours ain't working it's a great upgrade!
