Copied from the Roads topic, after an echo then dougc suggesting I post here.

Im moving back to Baff soon, and for the first time not in a shopping car. Anyone know any good roads or places to go nearby? My knowledge is limited to pubs at the mo....

Right, well. Head towards the M4, At the roundabout at pensylvania go left, play around up there. Quite good.

Otherwise head for sailsbury plane!! ing minter.

On thursdays at 7:15 in Bradford On Avon the local bike shop do a ride, come along to them and ask to do some routes nearer bath. Depends on the type of riding you want to do?

XC? Again sailsbury plane or stourhead or somewhere.
DH? Earlstoke!
Bit of everything? woods near sally in the woods?

PM me if you like. Maybe meet up for a bit of a ride at some point?

If you fancy trekking over to Bristol one evening, some of us here do a regular evening/night ride (wooded singletrack)

Take the A36 South, turn off at the Chittern/shrewton, then enjoy Sailsbury plain!! Continue on until Stonehenge, have a coffee and turnaround. No speed cameras, lots of open roads and great scenery!

But watch out for tanks! (I've only ever seen one along there). Also watch for speed traps in Chitterne and/or Shrewton - stick to 30 there but the rest is excellent.

Better if you turn rightwink

Or head north over the motorway up the A46, some good fast sweepers with good vis up there towards Stroud.
