I'm planning on getting my car detailed soon. The result needs to be comprehensively documented, which got me thinking about the best locations to take photos of the car looking her best cool!

Can anyone suggest any stunning backdrops/landscapes from across the South West that would look 'even better' with a car (my TVR) in the foreground...

Post your own examples/pictures up to give me some inspiration.

Cheers

Plenty of stunning coastal views around the area for the perfect backdrop. You'd need to wait a week or so for all the grockles to go home - don't want them spoiling a good shot!

Also, I quite like a bit of industrial heritage in a photo like that. There are plenty good examples scattered around the south west in the form of old mining engine houses.

Up on Kit Hill just past Callington, is quite nice & local

Or theres Halton Quay towards St Dominic (near the Who'd of Thought it Inn), or the pub car park at the Spaniards Inn, nice with some yachts moored up in the back ground

another cheddar gorge:

but in reality there are loads of really good places. all you need is something idylic or heavily contrasting to your car.

Just thought of it...pop up to Langdon Court...park it in front of the house on the gravel in the gardensbiggrin

Or to capture it in its natural environment...perhaps on the back of an AA Tow truck?whistle

Any seafront or coastal location can provide good results - even Weston-super-Mud;

Cheddar Gorge has already been mentioned, but worth another:

Otherwise get thee more adventurous with your photos, and any country lane can be a good location:

Old industrial estates/parks can work quite well - this is Weston EuroPark (I think it's called)

as is this:

and this:

edit - this too:

I was surprised to see a Phaeton parked at work today (MoD site). I don't really know who is the target demographic for that car confused

I need to get the Mustang down to some of the industrial bits of Bristol for some picture-taking I think cool

It's a hell of a car - this was GI_Jnr's and was the v10 5.0 diesel model - after a remap it had something insane like 700lbs/ft of torque.
