Going on from this thread, where we've had some interest:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Anyway, 'Bint' has posted the following:

Sally Pussey's - reasonable car park
Churchill - reasonable car park
3 Crowns - reasonable car park
Beefeater (next to Hilton J16 - does rather good steaks surprisingly) large car park
Bollingbrooke near Purton - smallish car park
Any others people want to suggest?

Sally Pusseys gets my vote, although if people want a better car park, then the Beefeater would get my vote!

Is there enough interest in this?

Thought it'd be a good opportunity for me to meet some people, since I'm new.
Also thought 19th of August seemed popular, and gives people enough time to get organised etc. smile

Glad he could help! If I can ever be bothered I may put the Alfa in for the nose to be redone - she's a bit of a workhorse so can't really be bothered.

Well, I dont know if people want to eat there or not? If not, then I'll get there a bit earlier maybe for a little something to eat (to keep the missus happy for me being a 'car bore' for the day)

What time does everyone think? And what would people like to be the plan of action?

I was thinking something along the lines of Midday-ish meet up, Food and beers for an hour or two, and then a drive afterwards for those who are interested (not me, as I'm not a very 'fast' driver to be honest!)

Oh, forgot to mention... Anyone think of somewhere local-ish they'd like to take a drive to? There's Barbury Castle, Lechlade, Bourton-On-The-Water, Lydiard Park, or perhaps somewhere indoors...

I'll pass on Lydiard as we're 5 mins walk from the back entrance. HOWEVER.........it has just occurred to me that they have free standing BBQ's for hire and are close to the LARGE car park.... Frisbees, beer, BBQ, just an idea?

What about the water parks? e.g Coate water etc?

Coate water is a good idea = large carpark either at the park or at the pub (which is also very nice too)

A definite maybe, Stig + Mrs Stig (she exists but might be working nights so might not come, honest) - Monaro, loud and proud

Just as a heads up, TVRCC Bristol went to Sally Pusseys last year and whilst the food was fab, the woman in charge got very stroppy about a big group all paying seperately for their food. She was quite rude about it all, to the point where we probably wouldn't go there again.

If you are planning on eating there, just be aware of the dragon!!
